Gorgeous specimen of Ferocactus Latispinus or "DEVIL'S TONGUE" BARREL or "Crow's Claw" from Mexico (Coahuila, Nuevo Leon) Globular cactus, grows as large as 10 to 16 inches in diameter (25 to 40 cm); 14 to 23 ribs, large areoles, with 4 large central spines.
PRIZED FOR IT'S BEAUTIFUL RED AND UNUSUALLY DOWNWARD-CURVING SPINES. The Devil's Tongue Barrel has striking pinkish purple flowers, 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter (2.5 to 3.5 cm). They bloom in late autumn to early winter.
Requires porous cactus soil with adequate drainage. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch during active growing season. Less water during winter months. Some cold tolerance, but best to protect from frost. This Ferocactus is grown with organic, pesticide-free methods. This is a gorgeous, healthy specimen currently in a 4" pot.
